The spy-action thriller directed by Aditya Dhar has dominated the domestic box office. Sacnilk.com reports that the film has grossed over ₹899 crore in 13 days after its premiere on March 19. On day 13, the film earned ₹27.75 crore nett in India, according to preliminary estimates. Thus now, it has made ₹899.92 crore in India. The film has already eclipsed the lifetime India collections of KGF: Chapter 2 (₹859.70 crore), RRR (₹782.20 crore), Kalki 2898 AD (₹646 crore), and many more significant hits.

The film exceeded Dhurandhar’s second weekend earnings of ₹141.5 crore. It outperformed Dhurandhar Part 1, which grossed ₹895 crore in India. Dhurandhar 2 has failed to beat SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹1,030.42 crore) and Allu Arjun’s Telugu blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rise (₹1,234.10 crore).

The first portion was released in theaters on December 5, last year. The film follows an undercover Indian intelligence operative, played by Ranveer Singh, as he penetrated Karachi’s criminal syndicates and political power structures in Pakistan to dismantle a terror network threatening India.

Set in Karachi’s Lyari neighborhood, which is infamous for its history of gang fights and deadly turf conflicts, Dhurandhar focused around covert intelligence operations against the backdrop of geopolitical and terror events such as the Kandahar plane hijack, the 2001 Parliament Attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The sequel followed Ranveer’s character Hamza Ali Mazari’s ascension in the Karachi underworld, as well as his origins as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, charting the young man’s road to becoming a clandestine operator.

The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, among others. Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar co-produced Dhurandhar The Revenge. The movie was released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
