12 Children given sanitizer instead of Polio Drops in Maharashtra

In a shocking lapse, as many as 12 children were administered hand sanitizer instead of oral polio vaccine drops, according to NDTV. The incident occurred on January 31 at Bhanbora PHC (Primary Health Centre) in Kapsikopri village.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the district health authorities suspended three officials including a health worker, doctor, and ASHA worker. This was done right after a preliminary investigation.

The affected children had been admitted to the Government Medical College in Yavatmal. “Their condition is stable and are under observation”,  Yavatmal Zilla Parishad CEO Shrikrishna Panchal said.
