A 13- year-old rape victim gave birth to a baby girl in a hospital in Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The infant died soon after its birth.
The minor girl was raped by a 29-year old man many times last year on August 15. The victim is a class 7 school student. According to police reports, the victim was raped by the accused in his own house. The accused also gave life threats to the victim on various occasions.
The accused identified as Sikander alias Amarnath Tewari was arrested on February 9 after the victim’s family came to know about the pregnancy. An FIR was registered on February 7 by the victim’s family.
The police will take further action in the case after post-mortem and DNA reports of the newborn.
