1899 is a multilingual German epic period mystery-science fiction streaming television series. It is created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar. Originally, the show premiered on November 17, 2022on Netflix. The series follows immigrants on a steamship travelling from London to New York get caught up in a mysterious riddle after finding a second vessel adrift on the open sea. Moreover, It has received mostly positive critical reviews, with praise going towards the casting, directing, cinematography, and acting, though some criticized the slow pacing.
Since the show is created by the creators of the original Netflix series titled ‘Dark’, the fans of the former series are now watching 1899. Following the same, most of the show addicts had already binge-watched this new show. Trying to digest what all they’ve witnessed in the series, the fans cannot wait for a second season.
Here’s what we think we can expect from the second season.
1899 Season 2: Cast
Originally, the series stars a wide number of cast members in the first season. However, like we witnessed, most of the passengers of the ship had jumped after hearing a certain sound playing in the ship. Considering the same, we cannot expect the entire cast of the first season to return for a second season. Nevertheless, the most we can do at the moment is to recap the cast of the first season.

1899 Season 2: Speculated Plot
After a massive twist in the plot towards the finale of the first season, the fans of the show cannot wait to know what is going to happen ahead. If we recap the season one finale, Maura finally discovers the truth that all the passengers are indeed under a psychological project that is held in the space. The project being called ‘Prometheus’ is one twist as now we now that none of the ships are real. Henry himself is the brother of Maura who is controlling the entire program.
Considering all of this, we think it is safe to speculate that the upcoming season of the series is likely to feature the origins of each of the main characters of the series. We also expect Maura to find a way to exit the program in the next season.
