Climate activist Disha Ravi was remanded by the police for 5 days after being arrested for sharing the protest toolkit posted by Greta Thunberg on social media on Sunday.
The 21-year-old was arrested from her home in Bangalore by the Delhi Police. She is a graduate who founded the group Fridays for Future which has an active social media presence. She has a degree in business administration. She admitted to the police that she edited some things in the toolkit and then shared it. According to the Delhi police, the toolkit has been put together by a pro-Khalistani group named Poetic Justice Foundation (PJF). Greta Thunberg first tweeted it but then deleted the tweet.
Farmers from all over India have been protesting against the new farm bills introduced in September for the past 81 days. Till now the government has held 11 rounds of talks with the farmers but haven’t succeeded in pacifying them.
