229 students and 4 teachers test COVID-19 positive in school hostel

Bhavna Public School in Washim in Maharashtra has been declared as a containment zone as 229 students and 4 teachers living in the school hostel have tested positive for Coronavirus.

The students tested positive belonged to class 5 to 9, of which 151 students belong to Amravati, 55 from Yavatmal, and the others from Washim, Hingoli, Buldhan and Akola.

All of 327 students were tested and those tested negative are place under quarantine. Two medical teams have been assigned to treat them and the assistant district collector of Washim has been appointed as the nodal officer in this case.

The school reopened on January 27 and outstation students returned to hostels from by February 14.
