24-year-old man sneaks into Vijay’s Chennai residence; security lapse sparks major safety concerns

Actor and politician Thalapathy Vijay’s residence in Chennai witnessed a startling breach of security on Friday, 19 September, when a 24-year-old man unlawfully entered the property. The intruder, later identified as Arun from Madurantakam, managed to slip past the Y-category security cover, raising serious questions about the system in place.

According to police reports, the man gained entry by climbing a tree and reaching the terrace of Vijay’s home. The incident reportedly happened two nights earlier, when Vijay himself encountered the intruder during a visit to the terrace. Displaying calm, the actor escorted the man downstairs before immediately alerting the authorities.

Following the trespass, a bomb disposal squad was deployed to thoroughly inspect the premises. The intruder was taken into custody by the Neelankarai police and brought in for questioning. During interrogation, officials noted that the man appeared mentally disturbed. He was later shifted to Kilpauk Government Hospital for treatment.

The episode has led to growing concerns about how someone could bypass tight security around a public figure of Vijay’s stature. While the investigation continues, Vijay has yet to release an official statement on the matter.

The actor, last seen in the 2024 film The Greatest of All Time, is currently preparing for Jana Nayagan, slated for 2026, which is expected to be his final film before fully dedicating himself to politics as Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief.
