US recommends Moderna’s emergency use to help fight battle against COVID-19

The US FDA has recommended the emergency use of Moderna Inc`s vaccine and making it the second option available for vaccination against COVID-19. The FDA committee said the the benefits of Moderna outweigh the risks in people aged 18 or above.

The committee voted in favor by 20-0 and one abstention. The first dosage will be provided to healthcare workers who are hit severely by Coronavirus and vulnerable people & nursing homes staff. US will acquire 100 million doses for $1.5 billion pact made in August.
