Madhya Pradesh man accused of urinating on Tribal arrested after video of him goes viral

Police on Wednesday arrested a man accused of urinating on a tribal youth in Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi district, an official shared.

In a conversation to PTI, the state’s Home Minister Narottam Mishra described the man’s act as “heinous, condemnable and a shame on humanity.”

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati also reacted to the incident. She stated that the act was shameful and condemnable and demanded demolition of the property of the accused. Reacting to the similar demand made by Congress, Mishra told PTI that bulldozer action is not taken on the basis of Congress’s demand. It is only when there is a case of encroachment.

On Tuesday, an official from the MP’s CMO said that a case was registered against the accused, who is identified as Pravesh Shukla, under Indian Penal Code sections 294 (obscene acts), 504 (international insult to provoke breach of peace), and provision of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (prevention of attrocities) Act. The official added that action under National Stringent Act (NSA) was also initiated.

The accused was arrested at around 2 am on Wednesday with the help of leads and he is currently being questioned, stated Additional Superintendent of Police Anjulata Patle.
