Mark Zuckerberg takes jibe at Elon Musk with his first post in 11 years on Twitter post launching Threads

Mark Zuckerberg shared his first tweet in more than a decade, and it is apparently a playful jibe at the social media platform’s owner Elon Musk. The post comes after Meta founder rolled out a much-anticipated Twitter substitute.

On Wednesday, Meta’s Instagram officially unveiled Threads, which is considered the most potent threat yet to the struggling Twitter.

Hours later, Zuckerberg posted a photo of identical Spider-Man facing off.

This the first time that Zuckerberg has shared a post on Twitter, since 2012. It comes a couple of weeks after Musk challenged him for a cage fight, which is apparently accepted by Meta head.

Threads is capitalising on a series of mis-steps at Twitter. Since Musk bought the platform in 2021 for $44 billion, it has cut thousands of employees, loosened content moderation policies and put users and advertisers through spate of technical challenges.

In the latest controversial developments, Musk has put an upper limit for the number of posts an user can view in a day. He called it a “temporary” measure in order to fend off data scrapers and bots.

Zuckerberg’s post on Threads read, “There should be a public conversations app with 1 billion-plus people on it… Twitter has had the opportunity to do this but hasn’t nailed it. Hopefully we will.”
