Amid the power politics in Maharashtra, Aaditya Thackeray, member of Uddhav Thackeray’s camp, has predicted a significant changes withing the government, starting with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Thackeray hinted at Shinde’s position being vulnerable after inclusion of NCP’s Ajit Pawar along with eight other MLAs of his party in the state ministry. Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister on July 3rd, the post which he is sharing with BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis.
In his statement, Thackeray stated, “I have heard the CM [Shinde] has been asked to resign and there might be some change [in the government].”
His statement comes amid the reports of Shinde being marginalised by the BJP post the inclusion of Pawar and his supporters, who had rebelled against the NCP, in the government.
A senior leader with Shiv Sena [UBT] have claimed that around 20 MLAs from Shinde’s camp have started maintaining contact since Pawar joined the Shinde-Fadnavis government in Maharashtra. Sanjay Raut claimed that around 17-18 MLAs from Shinde’s camp contacted us after Pawar’s rebellion.
Despite the developments, Shinde has asserted that he has no intention to resign from his post and that there is no rebellion within the Shiv Sena regarding NCP MLAs.
