A little more than a year ago, the defamation trial involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard captivated the entire globe.
The former couple’s battle to establish their innocence against one another in the Virginia court was televised across the world. The two ex-lovers now appear to be making progress. Heard reprised her character in the sequel to Aquaman 2 in a controversial choice that infuriated fans of the DC film series.
She confessed that there is some pressure on her even though she is honoured to play Mera again in the Aquaman sequel. “There’s a tonne of pressure on these big franchise films, with millions and millions of dollars at stake,” she remarked in an interview with Deadline magazine. “Compromises are part of trying to make it the most successful thing it can be.”
Heard recently posted on Instagram to express her gratitude for the positive response In the Fire received at the Taormina Film Festival, which had completed up production before her trial with Depp started.

Conor Allyn, the film’s director, lauded Heard’s acting skills, particularly those displayed in In the Fire, and expressed faith in her “hell of a comeback” while speaking about her future. On the other hand, Depp discussed his interactions with Hollywood in a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023.
He acknowledged having experienced a boycott in the past but said he had moved on and no longer thought about Hollywood.
