BJP leader killed in police lathi charge over teacher recruitment policy protests in Bihar

BJP leader Vijay Kumar Singh was killed as police rained lathis on protestors demonstrating against the Bihar government at Dakbangla Chauraha in Patna over the posting of teachers in the state.

As per the reports, the BJP leader was gravely injured and rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared dead upon reaching hospital.

The news were confirmed by Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Modi, who took to his Twitter handle and informed that the BJP leader was dead. He tweeted, “Arrested by Bihar police in Patna .Jehanabad district GS Vijay Kumar Singh died in brutal police lathi charge.”

The police officials used lathi charge and also sprayed tear gas and deployed water cannons to disperse the BJP protestors participating in a “Vidhan Sabha March.”

Soon after the incident, BJP chief JP Nadda slammed the Bihar government. He took the matter to Twitter and stated that the lathi-charge on BJP workers in Patna is a result of failure and incompetence of the state government. Nadda mentioned that the Mahagathbandhan government is attacking the democracy in order to protect their fortress of corruption.

BJP’s Sushil Modi also slammed Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar over the party leader’s death.
