Owen finds the entire situation hilarious and has no ill will despite being the focus of rumours for years. Owen acknowledged his gratitude for being connected with the well-known song in a PEOPLE interview, saying, “It’s a fantastic song, and the speculation has always been humorous to me. I’m honoured that my name has even come up in the conversation.
Swift has known Owen, who recently released his own album, “Loose Cannon,” since she was 16 years old. She has achieved significant growth and success internationally, and he respects her as a person and an artist. Owen remarks on her after thinking about their past: “She’s an amazing girl and an amazing artist. It’s been amazing to watch how she’s developed as a musician and how huge of a star she’s become.
Fans have long conjectured that Owen served as the inspiration for Swift’s song “Sparks Fly,” putting together hints from earlier comments and her purposeful “easter eggs.” There are allusions to a meeting between Swift and Owen at a Portland performance in the song’s liner notes and an old MySpace post.
