Bhopal-Delhi Vande Bharat catches fire mid journey; Visuals emerge

Vande Bharat Express, running on the course Rani Kamalapati (Bhopal) – Hazrat Nizamuddin (Delhi), caught fire on the morning of Monday when it was on its way to Delhi. The train’s C14 coach reportedly caught fire due to a blaze in the battery box, which resulted in the train stopping immediately. Post the incident, the train was halted at Kurwai Kethora station.

Visuals of the incident showed fire in the coach. The videos featured some people trying to doze off the fire, while other passengers were waiting at the railway station.

All passengers are safe, as no injuries were reported. The fire was limited to battery box only. Indian Railways stated that the train will be back on track, post its inspection.

There were around 20 passengers in the coach, who were shifted to other coaches immediately. The fire brigade was quick to reach the site of incident and dozed it off at 07:58 hrs, as informed by a railway official.
