Pete Davidson ‘hit with 50 hours of community service’ following reckless driving charge

The well-known comedian Pete Davidson has been ordered to mandatory community service and traffic school as part of the punishments for his car crash into a Beverly Hills home earlier this year. On June 16, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office released a statement confirming Davidson’s misdemeanor reckless driving charge.

On the evening of March 4, Davidson’s Mercedes crossed the curb, collided with a fire hydrant and crashed into a home in Beverly Hills. Fortunately, no significant injuries were reported and both the Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) and the District Attorney affirmed that there were no drugs or alcohol involved in the incident. Davidson’s girlfriend, Chase Sui Wonders, with whom he has been dating for a couple of months, was in the car with him at the time.

The Los Angeles D.A.’s office said on July 24 that Davidson had been put on an 18-month “diversion program” as an alternative to prosecution. Davidson is permitted to finish this program, which includes 50 hours of community service and 12 hours of traffic school, in New York. Given his father’s connection to the New York Fire Department (NYFD), Davidson’s counsel indicated that his community service will probably be completed at the NYFD.
