Five people were left injured in a late Friday shooting in Seattle’s Rainer Beach neighbourhood that saw “dozens and dozens” of bullets fired, said Police Chief Adrian Diaz, as per The Seattle Times.
Of the five injured people, one of them is in a critical condition at Harborview Medical Centre, while the other two men and a woman are being treated at the hospital and there injuries are not considered as life-threatening, according to a hospital spokesperson. As per the reports, the fifth victim was treated at the crime scene itself. The police are now searching for at least two suspects.
According to Diaz, the people injured were in their 20s and had been attending a community outreach event for distributing clothes, food, and toys. The giveaways are usually scheduled on Fridays.
As per the police chief, it was not immediately known if the victims were targeted or what unfolded just before the shooting.
