Israel will impose a national lockdown due to rising COVID-19 infections for the third time, said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday. The lockdown will be effectuated on Sunday evening and last 14 days.
Concerning Israel’s Christian minority, the Health Ministry said that prayers during Christmas would be limited to 10 people in closed, and 100 people in open areas.
Israel’s vaccination drive is already underway. Despite this, public anger has risen towards Netanyahu’s handling of the pandemic. Israel will hold its fourth election in two years, on 23rd March.
