Jordan Spieth is now a father of two! The pro golfer, 30, announced on Instagram on Wednesday that he and his wife Annie Verret welcomed a daughter named Sophie on September 12.
“Welcome, Sophie 9/12/23 💕,” he penned, along with a black-and-white photo capturing him cuddling the newborn.
As reported by ESPN, Spieth was scheduled to go on a Ryder Cup scouting trip to Marco Simone in Italy, but instead stayed at home to be at his spouse’s side for the baby’s birth.
The Ryder Cup, on the other hand, didn’t seem to mind. “Welcome Sophie — so happy to have you on the US team!!” the sporting organization cheered in response to Spieth’s pregnancy announcement in the comments section.
Sophie is their second baby. The couple married in 2018 and welcomed son Sammy in November 2021. Spieth posted a cute picture of Sammy’s tiny hand clutching his own at the time. “Sammy Spieth born 11/14,” he wrote in the post’s caption. “Mama and baby doing great! Feeling blessed!”
