Arnold Schwarzenegger has talked about the unique parenting techniques he used on his four kids.
The Terminator actor and his ex-Maria Shriver had four children together: Christopher, 26, Patrick, 30, Christina, 31 and Katherine, 33. He used a strict parenting method when raising his kids, which he says was necessary as a “life lesson.” He said that he once threw his daughter Katherine’s shoes into a fire because she left them in front of the fireplace despite his warnings.
He told his story about how Katherine now uses the same parenting tactics she once hated on her child Lyla. The actor said, “You could talk to them about what they liked about their upbringing because they have very humorous stories.”
Arnold added, “The first one is Katherine … As a matter of fact, Katherine comes over with (her three-year-old daughter) Lyla and she says, ‘Lyla, I told you already not to put the shoes there. Keep your shoes on or you put them away, but you don’t leave them there by the stand in front of the fireplace because you know what Daddy did?'”
“‘When I left my shoes there twice? The third time, he burned them in front of me and I cried,'” the actor stated as he recalled the story. When questioned if he had actually burned his daughter’s shoes, he told People, “Yes, absolutely. Now uses the same methods which she cried over and that she complained about.”
