Bombay High Court grants anticipatory bail to Baramati resident, says holding hands for expressing love not included as an offence in POCSO Act

The Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bail to a 27 year-old man from Baramati district, Pune who was accused of holding hands of a 17 year-old girl and expressing love to her. He was booked under Section 354, Section 506 of IPC and Section 7 of the POCSO Act. Justice Bharati Dangre on December 22 ruled that, expressing love by holding hands does not fall under Section 7 of the POCSO Act and any physical touch without a sexual intent cannot be brought under this act.
