Taylor Swift to earn more than $100 million from Spotify alone in 2023, the most for any artist in platform’s history: Report

Taylor Swift will make more than $100 million from Spotify alone in 2023, as per the calculations based on her top number of streams for the year disclosed by the streaming giant in its year-end wrapped count. The singer was named Spotify’s most-streamed artist in 2023 late last month. Taylor’s 26.1 billion streams amount to about $97 million in recorded music royalties, according to Billboard. And the year isn’t even half over yet.

According to the report, Taylor Swift’s total streams through December would amount to 27.2 billion, reaching $101 million in recorded music royalties from Spotify alone through the end of the year. Add in publishing revenue and Taylor’s music would have earned around $131 million on Spotify by the end of the year.

While Spotify is the biggest streaming service in the world, there are many more. According to a Billboard report, the singer may earn nearly $200 million in  total earnings from streaming in 2023.

Taylor has surpassed artists including Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake and Peso Pluma with 26.1 billion global streams on Spotify since January 1, the music streaming service announced on November 29 as part of its annual year-end Wrapped rundown.

This wasn’t entirely unexpected given the ongoing success of her 2022 album Midnights and two chart-topping re-recordings: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) and Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), the latter of which, according to a Billboard report, racked up an incredible 375.49 million on-demand official streams in its first week.
