Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend Navy Day event in Sindhudurg on Dec 4

On Monday, December 4, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to travel to Maharashtra, where he will attend the “Navy Day 2023” celebrations in Sindhudurg and unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The “Operational Demonstrations” by the Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces from Tarkarli beach in Sindhudurg will also be witnessed by PM Modi.

“At around 4:15 PM, Prime Minister will reach Sindhudurg, Maharashtra and unveil the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Rajkot Fort. After that, Prime Minister will attend the programme marking ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations at Sindhudurg,” a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office stated on Saturday.

Every year on December 4, Navy Day is celebrated. The ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations in Sindhudurg pay respect to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s rich maritime heritage, whose seal inspired the new Naval Ensign that was adopted last year when the Prime Minister commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant.

Every year on Navy Day, the Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces perform ‘Operational Demonstrations’. These ‘Operational Demonstrations’ provide people with a chance to witness several facets of the Indian Navy’s multi-domain operations.
