Every year on December 4, Navy Day is celebrated. The ‘Navy Day 2023’ celebrations in Sindhudurg pay respect to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s rich maritime heritage, whose seal inspired the new Naval Ensign that was adopted last year when the Prime Minister commissioned the first indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant.
Every year on Navy Day, the Indian Navy’s ships, submarines, aircraft and special forces perform ‘Operational Demonstrations’. These ‘Operational Demonstrations’ provide people with a chance to witness several facets of the Indian Navy’s multi-domain operations.
