Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour becomes first to gross over $1billion; Report

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ Tour has become the first in the music industry to cross the billion-dollar milestone in gross ticket sales.

The tour grossed an estimated $1.04 billion in ticket sales alone, according to Pollstar, a live-music trade publication. This remarkable accomplishment was made achievable by the sale of nearly 4.35 million tickets over 60 concerts from November 17, 2022 to November 15, 2023.

The ‘Eras’ Tour not only surpassed in terms of ticket sales but also revenue from merchandise, with Pollstar estimating sales to be approximately $200 million for the same time period. Pollstar anticipates that ticket sales for the forthcoming eligibility box-office year might reach another $1 billion, perhaps increasing the tour’s total to more than $2 billion. Swift added numerous shows in the United States and internationally, exceeding Pollstar’s initial June prediction of $1.4 billion in total gross ticket sales.

Despite this incredible achievement, Swift’s management chose not to reveal any official box office numbers from the tour, even after its conclusion in November 2024.

The Grammy winner’s amazing year was further highlighted this week when she was named Time’s Person of the Year. Swift described this  recognition as a “breakthrough moment” in her career, following the success of her ‘Eras’ Tour’s exceptional popularity and the hugely successful concert film, which grossed $250 million at the global theatrical box office.
