Brad Pitt in talks to star in Quentin Tarantino’s final film ‘The Movie Critic’; Report

Deadline reported that Brad Pitt will reunite with Quentin Tarantino for the director’s final project, The Movie Critic. After Pitt starred in True Romance (1993), Inglourious Basterds (2009), and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), which brought him his first Oscar for best supporting actor, this will be their fourth collaboration.

The Movie Critic is a 1977 Los Angeles-based movie about a critic who works for The Popstar Pages, a  fictional magazine.  Tarantino stated that the movie is “based on a guy who really lived, but was never really famous, and he used to write movie reviews for a porno rag”.

He added, “He was very rude, you know. He cursed. He used racial slurs. But his shit was really funny. He was as rude as hell.”

Tarantino has already stated that he plans on retiring after making ten films, therefore this is likely to be his final one. The Movie Critic will be his tenth film, after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which earned $377 million worldwide.

Pitt’s involvement in the project has yet to be confirmed due to his hectic schedule. He is now collaborating on an Apple-produced Formula One racing film with filmmaker Joseph Kosinski, who also directed Top Gun: Maverick.

The Movie Critic Potential Release Date

The Movie Critic is expected to begin shooting either at the end of this year or in early 2025. So the glim might be released in late 2026.
