PM Modi to visit Assam on two-day trip, unveils projects worth Rs.11,600 crore

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Assam on Saturday evening for a two-day visit to unveil the foundation and inaugurate projects worth ₹11,600 crore, as per the statement from the Assam Chief Minister’s office.

The CMO posted on X on Saturday, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be in Assam to dedicate a slew of development projects to the people.”

The PM will lay the foundation stone for the ₹500 crore Maa Kamakhya Divyalok Pariyojana project and the ₹831 crore project that will turn Guwahati’s Nehru Stadium into a FIFA-standard football stadium during a large public rally, according to the statement.

The PM will launch the ₹3,444 crore Asom Mala 2.0 project, which will upgrade 43 roads across the state and build 38 bridges.

The CMO said that the PM will lay the foundation stone for three projects: ₹300 crores for Chandrapur Stadium, a project worth ₹578 crores that will improve sports facilities; ₹297 crore for Unity Mall Development, which will develop commercial and recreational spaces; and ₹300 crore for Karimganj Medical College.

According to the CMO, other projects include widening the road connecting Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, which is expected to cost ₹358 crore, and improving the infrastructure of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), with an investment of ₹3,250 crore to improve healthcare facilities.
