In the latest edition of PEOPLE magazine, actor Robert De Niro has talked about his family circumstances. His youngest daughter, Gia, who is 10 months old, was the primary topic of conversation. He lives with Tiffany Chen, his 45-year-old girlfriend, who is an expert in martial arts.
At the age of 79, De Niro welcomed the baby girl last year, and he now says he sees “a lot of similarities” between her and his baby self.
The Oscar winner shared a decades-old photo of baby De Niro in his father’s arms, painter Robert De Niro Sr., and said that it reminded him of his youngest daughters. The second baby on his mind was Helen, his second-youngest child with ex-wife Grace Hightower.
In the PEOPLE interview, he went on to talk about his “adorable baby”. “When I look at her, everything else goes away,” said De Niro, who was always happy to be there with newborn Gia.
De Niro also has two children, Drena (56) and Raphael (47), from his first marriage to Diahnne Abbott, as well as twins Julian and Aaron (28) with his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith. He has two children with his ex-wife, Hightower: Elliot (25) and Helen. The proud elder siblings appear to enjoy their time with Gia, too.
He also talks about passing on wisdom to his kids in the PEOPLE interview. The lessons he received from his parents, De Niro Sr. and Virginia Admiral, are still fresh in his memory. And now he’s giving his children all that knowledge about the little things.
