Mithun Chakraborty, a well-known actor and BJP politician, has improved his health and is now “quite stable”. On Sunday, the news agency PTI quoted an official. Mithun, 73, was brought to a private hospital in Kolkata on Saturday after complaining about severe chest pain, according to the report.
“He is recuperating well, is fully conscious, well-oriented, active, and has consumed a soft diet. He will undergo certain investigations before his discharge,” a medical facility official told PTI. The actor has previously undergone an MRI and other medical testing at the hospital.
On Sunday, news agency ANI released a video of the actor in the hospital. In the video, Mithun sat on his bed inside the hospital room. The doctor told him in Hindi, “Now it’s ok, drip is continuing, you’re drinking adequate water, keep drinking…” Mithun pointed to his feet and said something. Sukanta Majumdar, the West Bengal BJP chief, also met Mithun on Sunday.
It was recently announced that Mithun would receive the Padma Bhushan Awardees 2024. The actor’s career started with the Mrinal Sen-directed movie Mrigayaa, which earned him the National Film Award for Best Actor. His other notable movies include Disco Dancer, Agneepath, Ghar Ek Mandir, Jallad, and Pyaar Jhukta Nahin.
