Ayushmann Khurrana to star in a vampire thriller ‘Thamba’; confirms Stree 2 director Amar Kaushik

Amar Kaushik is now enjoying the success of his horror comedy film Stree 2. The film director, who previously worked as a producer on Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga and Munjya, is back with a spooky horror comedy. In an interview with India Today, Amar revealed the title of the upcoming Maddock Supernatural Universe vampire thriller.

While confirming the production, the filmmaker revealed that he is producing a vampire movie named Thamba. Amar quoted, “The vampire picture is called Thamba. We will start shooting for it in the next two months.” Amar also announced Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2. He indicated that the story had been written and that the script was now being developed since he was dissatisfied with a few aspects of the story.

Previously, a Pinkvilla report stated that Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna had been cast in Munjya filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar’s horror comedy. As per the report, “Ayushmann Khurrana and Dinesh Vijan have previously worked together on Bala and share a great creative bond. They have been discussing Vampires of Vijay Nagar for a while now and are all set to take the film on floors by the end of this year. It will mark the first collaboration of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. Both the actors have a very unique arc in the film, which will take the audiences by surprise. The script is presently in the writing stage and will soon get into the pre-production stage.”
