Alia Bhatt, one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors, recently shared her candid views on film promotions. In an interview promoting her upcoming release, Jigra, Alia addressed the belief that promotional strategies can make or break a film. According to the Raazi star, no amount of PR can salvage a poorly made film, and conversely, the success of a film cannot be solely attributed to promotions.
“You can’t save a bad film with PR; you can’t save a film that hasn’t worked with PR. If it works, you can’t say it’s because of PR. That’s the key difference—draw the line and try to understand,” Alia stated.
Alia also reflected on the pressures of staying in the limelight and navigating personal narratives in the media. While she acknowledged that highlighting certain aspects of one’s life isn’t inherently harmful, she cautioned against the danger of spreading false information. “Repeating a lie a hundred times won’t make it true,” she added, emphasizing the importance of honesty.
As Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and co-starring Vedang Raina and Manoj Pahwa, gears up for an October 11, 2024 release, Alia is also busy with other projects. She’s currently filming Alpha, a YRF spy thriller with Sharvari Wagh, and is set to start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War later this year.
