Director Amar Kaushik has made waves in Bollywood with the success of Stree 2, starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor. In a recent interview, it was revealed that Roohi will not be included in his Maddock Supernatural Cinematic Universe.
Kaushik’s decision was linked to his limited involvement in the making of Roohi, as he had been busy working on another project at that time. It was further explained that unless there is a need for a double role by Rajkummar Rao, the film would not be added to the universe.
Additionally, updates on the much-anticipated Bhediya 2 were provided. Kaushik shared that the release date might face delays due to technical challenges, particularly with VFX work, though fans can expect the film to hit theaters soon.
The first part of Bhediya, released in 2022, starred Varun Dhawan and was set in Arunachal Pradesh, drawing inspiration from local folklore about a shape-shifting werewolf. The film was praised for its fresh concept, and its characters have now made appearances in Stree 2.
While fans eagerly await the sequel to Bhediya, it has been confirmed that production is expected to start in early 2025. Kaushik, along with producer Dinesh Vijan, has successfully established a supernatural universe in Bollywood. The filmmaker’s unique approach to blending folklore and contemporary storytelling has earned him a special place in the industry.
