Ananya Panday, fresh off her recent role in the web thriller CTRL, revealed a humorous childhood story involving her close friend Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan. During a chat with her CTRL director Vikramaditya Motwane and co-star Vihaan Samat, Ananya confessed that she used to film daily vlogs of herself but never posted them online. However, these private videos, shot with friends Suhana Khan and Shanaya Kapoor, became a source of playful blackmail from Aryan.
“I used to record what I do in a day and what I eat in a day,” she said, adding, “Aryan used to threaten us that he would leak those videos if we didn’t do work for him.” Ananya fondly laughed off the memory, calling it a “random trauma story.” Comedian Tanmay Bhat, who hosted the conversation, quipped, “Somebody needs to have a word with Aryan.”
In CTRL, Ananya portrays an online content creator who gets embroiled in a conspiracy, a role she says was inspired by her cousin Alanna Panday and her husband, Ivor McCray, who are popular vloggers. Ananya also admitted she enjoys watching daily vlogs herself.
The actress has a long-standing friendship with Aryan and Suhana Khan and previously shared another internet mishap where she accidentally leaked Suhana’s phone number online. Ananya also playfully revealed on Koffee with Karan that she had a childhood crush on Aryan, describing him as “cute.”
