Baba Siddique murder case: shooters add, son MLA Zeeshan Siddique is also on list

After veteran politician Baba Siddiqui was shot dead in Mumbai last week, sources say his MLA son Zeeshan Siddiqui is also on the Bishnoi gang’s murder list.

According to police reports, the gunmen claimed they had been granted a contract to kill both Baba Siddique and Zeeshan. As per the shooters, they were instructed that both the father and son would be at the murder scene on Saturday evening. However, if they were not able to assault them all at once, the gunmen were instructed to kill anybody they could find first, according to the sources.

Few months back, Zeeshan Siddique, was a Congress MLA from Vandre East, nut got kicked out of the party due to incidents of cross-voting in the elections for the council. After hurling chilli powder at the policeman assigned to Baba Siddiqui’s protection, three gunmen killed him on Saturday night near his son’s workplace. Two of them, Dharmaraj Kashyap of Uttar Pradesh and Gurmail Baljit Singh of Haryana, have been taken into custody, while Shivkumar Gautam, the third, has managed to get away.

He was last observed this morning in the Panvel area. While the Mumbai Police Anti-Extortion Cell looks into the matter, a number of police units have been sent to Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi to apprehend Shiv.

Last night, police detained a second individual who was suspected of posting on Facebook that he was responsible for Baba Siddique’s death. He was revealed to be Pravin Lonkar, the brother of Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar, a member of the Bishnoi gang.

As per investigations, the three accused used to commute daily, primarily in autorickshaws, from Kurla, where they rented an apartment, to Bandra in order to scout the areas Baba Siddiqui and his son used to visit. These locations included the vicinity of their home, workplace, and the gatherings they participated in.
