The former member of One Direction, Zayn Malik, is “surrounded by his loved ones” as he fails with mourning and shock after the untimely death of bandmate Liam Payne in Argentina. Payne was discovered dead at the age of 31 from “multiple traumas and excessive bleeding” following a fall from the third storey of a Buenos Aires hotel.
Malik was reportedly notified of Liam’s death in the early hours following the event, according to stories that surfaced on Wednesday. The two obviously had a great deal of respect for one another, despite the difficulties in their relationship.
After competing on The X Factor, Malik, who is known for his soulful vocals in the legendary band that reached its zenith of glory in 2011 before disbanding, has been left in “absolute bits,” a source close to him told the Daily Mail. “His parents have been in contact with Liam’s family to offer their support and condolences, and he is in shock,” the person said. People who care about him “don’t want him to be alone” during this trying time.
According to the source, a producer based in the United States who is now working with him, Malik, 31, cannot be left alone while he grieves for his friend. The source went on to say that despite their long-standing disagreements, the two respected one another from a distance. Along with his fiancée, who departed two days prior to the singer’s passing, Liam was in Argentina to support his former bandmate Niall Horan’s performance.
As the inquiry goes on, no foul play has been discovered in his death thus far.
The source went on to say, “They didn’t hate each other, but they couldn’t agree on certain issues. However, they both believed that the music industry had taken advantage of them.”
Payne “jumped” to his death, according to Buenos Aires Security Ministry communications director Pablo Policicchio. According to the site, Policicchio stated that “He had jumped from the balcony of his room” on the third floor of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires.
The authorities also stated that the accident caused “extremely serious injuries,” resulting in his death on the scene. Cops hurried to the hotel after receiving an emergency call shortly after 5 p.m. local time, warning of a “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” according to the Associated Press.
