AAP government plans for drone surveillance of 13 hotspots for Delhi pollution control

As air pollution levels rise, residents of the nation’s capital have begun to complain about respiratory problems. Gopal Rai, the environment minister for Delhi, declared on Friday that “drone surveillance” would be put into place in all 13 hotspots, where pollution levels usually surpass the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI).

Gopal Rai claimed that his government is fighting pollution “day and night” when visiting the Wazirpur industrial sector, one of the hotspots. Chief Justice DY Chandrachud spoke candidly with reporters at the Supreme Court on Thursday about his worries regarding the city’s rising pollution levels.

He disclosed that his physician has recommended against going for early walks because of the bad quality of the air, which can be harmful to respiratory health. Delhi resident Kalyani Tiwari told the news agency ANI on Friday, “The pollution has been causing me to have headaches and ongoing respiratory problems. With Chaat Puja and other celebrations approaching, the government must begin cleaning the rivers.”

According to a different local, pollution levels may increase in the days ahead to the point where it would be challenging for residents to leave their houses.
In Wazirpur, the drone will take pictures of pollution sources within 200 meters, enabling analysis of the causes of pollution in different neighbourhoods. A report for the Environment Department and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) will be made using these photos.
