On the Amavasya (new moon) of the Krishna Paksha, people celebrate Diwali. This year, there is a lot of disagreement regarding the best time to commemorate Amavasya Tithi because it falls across two days, starting on October 31 at 3:52 PM and concluding on November 1 at 6:16 PM.
Because of this overlap, some experts have declared that Diwali should be celebrated on October 31 while others would rather observe it on November 1 in accordance with custom. Drik Panchang believes that November 1, 2024, should be the date of Diwali celebrations. The best planetary conditions would be used for the rituals if Lakshmi Puja is performed on the evening of November 1 during Pradosh Kaal and Vrishabha Kaal.
