Renowned composer AR Rahman has reason to celebrate professionally amid personal challenges, as he bagged the prestigious “Best Score – Foreign Language Film” award at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards 2024 for his work in The Goat Life (Aadujeevitham).

The win was announced on Thursday, just two days after Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, revealed their separation after 29 years of marriage. The news of their split, shared via Rahman’s post on X (formerly Twitter), had left fans shocked.

In his first social media post since the announcement, Rahman shared a Billboard article listing the winners and wrote: “Score—Independent Film (Foreign Language), The Goat Life—A. R. Rahman.” The tweet garnered an outpouring of congratulatory messages, with many speculating this win could pave the way for an Oscar nod in 2025.

Rahman also released a heartfelt video thanking his team and fans, calling the award an “incredible honour.” He praised the collaborative efforts behind the score, mentioning director Blessy and his team of musicians and technicians.
