The Survivor 47 finale may be a two-episode special, but host Jeff Probst assures fans that the format won’t change. In fact, even with the two-part finale, the game will still stick to its usual structure. While some fans speculated that the show might switch to a final two format due to the reduction in players, Probst confirmed that this isn’t the case.
In a recent episode of the On Fire podcast, Jeff explained that the two-episode finale is a result of CBS wanting to expand the season to 14 episodes instead of the usual 13. This decision was made to allow more time for the final four players—Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, Sue Smey, and Teeny Chirichillo—to have their stories told, leading up to the final challenge, fire-making, and the traditional final three format. The change is designed to give more airtime to the final moments of the season and to showcase more behind-the-scenes content, not to shift to a final two format.
When asked about the rumors, Jeff firmly put them to rest: “It’s not a final two,” he stated. “But I will say, it is a tremendous finish to a great season.”
So, while the two-part finale might have fans on edge, rest assured that the final Tribal Council will stick to the familiar final three format. Get ready for the highly anticipated conclusion on December 18!
