‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ Turns Six; Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam Express Gratitude

Uri: The Surgical Strike, the critically acclaimed war film, completed six years since its release on January 11, 2019. Directed by Aditya Dhar and inspired by the 2016 Uri attack, the movie continues to be celebrated for its patriotic spirit and powerful storytelling.

Lead actor Vicky Kaushal, who played Major Vihaan Shergill, marked the milestone by sharing a post from RSVP Movies on Instagram. Accompanying the post were folded hands and Indian flag emojis, symbolizing his gratitude for the film’s enduring impact.

Actress Yami Gautam, who portrayed intelligence officer Pallavi Sharma, also reflected on the occasion. Sharing a screengrab of her character on Instagram Stories, Yami wrote, “Uri: The Surgical Strike celebrated more than we can think—the valour of the Indian Army, the spirit of the Nation, and the power of cinema.” She expressed her honor in playing the role, calling the film a “marvel” and thanking the team and audiences for their love.

Production house RSVP Movies commemorated the anniversary with iconic scenes from the movie, captioning them, “Looking back at India’s swift retaliation and the brave soldiers who made the operation a success.”

Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Uri also featured Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, Rajit Kapur, and Mohit Raina in pivotal roles. The film’s gripping narrative and powerful performances cemented its place as one of India’s finest war dramas.
