Bruce Springsteen has shared his enthusiastic praise for actor Jeremy Allen White, who will portray him in the upcoming biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere. In a recent Sirius XM interview with Jim Rotolo, the legendary musician expressed his approval of White’s portrayal, saying the actor is so talented that viewers will quickly connect with his performance. Springsteen highlighted that White brings “an interpretation of me” that will resonate deeply with fans.
Not only will White be playing Springsteen, but he will also be singing some of the iconic tracks from Springsteen’s vast catalog, including hits like Born to Run and Dancing in the Dark. Springsteen made sure to acknowledge the actor’s singing ability, giving his full approval for the biopic’s direction.
The Streets of Philadelphia artist also spoke about the impressive cast, which includes Paul Walter Hauser, Jeremy Strong, Odessa Young, and Stephen Graham, calling the ensemble “tremendous.” He expressed excitement about the way the film is coming together, describing the project as being “sculptured beautifully.”
Directed by Scott Cooper, Deliver Me From Nowhere is based on a 2023 book and focuses on the creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska. While Nebraska didn’t receive as much commercial success as some of his other works like Born to Run and Born in the U.S.A., it is considered by many critics to be one of his best. The album is particularly notable for being a solo effort, as Springsteen recorded it entirely by himself on a four-track recorder in his rented home in Colts Neck, New Jersey, without the help of his E Street Band.
As fans eagerly await the release of Deliver Me From Nowhere, it’s clear that Springsteen’s admiration for White’s performance and the biopic itself is only adding to the anticipation for what promises to be a deeply emotional and personal portrayal of the rock legend’s life and music.
