Wayne Osmond dies at 73

Wayne Osmond, a member of the famed Osmond Brothers, has tragically passed away at the age of 73 after suffering a serious stroke. His brother, Merrill Osmond, shared the news via Facebook, describing the emotional moment when he learned of Wayne’s condition. Merrill recounted dropping to his knees in prayer and then rushing to the hospital in Salt Lake City to say his goodbyes.

In his tribute, Merrill described Wayne as a “saint” and praised his humility, quickness to forgive, and ability to show unconditional love to everyone he encountered. He also honored Wayne’s musical talent, referring to his ability to write music as “genius.”

Wayne, along with his brothers Merrill, Jay, and Alan, rose to fame in the 1950s and 1960s as part of The Osmonds. The group was discovered by Andy Williams’ father and made multiple appearances on The Andy Williams Show. While they toured internationally and enjoyed a successful career, Wayne eventually pursued a solo career alongside his family members.

Wayne married his wife Kathlyn in 1974, and they had five children together. In 1994, Wayne was diagnosed with a brain tumor but made a full recovery within six months. His death marks the end of an era for The Osmonds, leaving behind a lasting legacy in music.
