Gypsy Rose Blanchard recently shared via Instagram that she will not post pictures of her newborn daughter, Aurora

Gypsy Rose Blanchard, the 33-year-old mother, recently shared an update on Instagram regarding her newborn daughter, Aurora Urker. In a post on January 6, Blanchard addressed the overwhelming public interest in her baby’s pictures, stating that she would not be sharing any photos of Aurora on social media to protect her privacy and safety. She thanked her supporters for their excitement and continued support but emphasized the importance of respecting her daughter’s privacy.

Aurora was born on December 28, 2023, the same day Blanchard was released from prison after serving time for the 2015 murder of her mother, Dee Blanchard. The news of Aurora’s birth was first shared by Blanchard’s boyfriend, Ken Urker, who posted a photo of the family in the hospital on New Year’s Day.

Blanchard’s mother, Dee Blanchard, suffered from Munchausen by proxy syndrome, subjecting her daughter to unnecessary medical treatments and ultimately orchestrating her own death. Gypsy Rose Blanchard had previously shared her pregnancy news in July 2023 on YouTube. During an interview with Good Morning America, she expressed her hopes to give her daughter the experiences and milestones that were deprived of her by her mother.

In a 2024 interview with People, Blanchard revealed that she and Urker had named their daughter Aurora after their shared fascination with the northern lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis.
