Nikki Glaser, who made history as the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, recently spoke about her pay disparity during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show on January 6. While Glaser didn’t disclose her exact salary, she revealed that she was paid less than Jerrod Carmichael, who hosted the event in 2023 and claimed he received $500,000 for his role. Despite the pay difference, Glaser expressed that she was still satisfied with her compensation and even joked that she would have done the gig for free.
Glaser, 40, maintained a positive outlook, saying, “I’m good with that” and emphasized that she felt “well-paid for what I do.” She also indicated that she anticipated a higher payment for future gigs.
While hosting the Golden Globes solo, Glaser received praise for her 10-minute monologue, where she humorously referenced stars like Nicole Kidman, Benny Blanco, and Timothée Chalamet. Other past hosts, like Ricky Gervais, have also mentioned that money isn’t their primary motivation for taking the job, with Gervais revealing that he only does it for things he would do for free.
Despite the pay disparity, Glaser’s history-making performance and strong reception reflect her success as a host for the prestigious event.
