Justin Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has presented new evidence in the ongoing legal dispute between Baldoni and Blake Lively. During a recent appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, Freedman played an alleged voice note from Baldoni in which he claimed that he was “sent to the basement” during the premiere of It Ends With Us. According to Baldoni, this decision was made by his co-star, Blake Lively, who allegedly didn’t want him near the movie’s cast on the red carpet at the New York City premiere held at AMC Lincoln Square Theater on August 6, 2024. Baldoni’s absence from the cast photos at the event raised some eyebrows.
In the voice message, Baldoni shared that he and his family were laughing at the “ridiculousness” of the situation, even as he found himself in a basement during one of the most “materialistically joyful” nights of his career. Despite the odd circumstances, he mentioned that he was surrounded by people who love him, and that’s what truly mattered. “We were all joyful and laughing cause none of that shit matters, none of it,” he said.
The director also took the opportunity to reflect on the bigger picture. He expressed that movie premieres weren’t as important as the art of filmmaking itself, stating that he was more focused on touching people’s “souls” with his work. He added, “I believe that will follow us, the truth will prevail, and light and love will win.”
