Eva Longoria became emotional as she pledged $50,000 to support families, first responders, and workers affected by the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, which have been spreading rapidly.
On Sunday, the actress took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video, expressing her sympathy for those who lost their homes, belongings, and cherished memories to the flames. She also reassured her followers that she and her family had been safely evacuated from the danger zone.
In the video, Longoria reflected on the chaos of the past week, calling it “crazy” and acknowledging the overwhelming impact of the wildfires. “So many people, so many friends have lost so much—memories, things they worked so hard for,” she said.
The Devious Maids star revealed that her family had been under evacuation warnings and that conditions in their area were worsening. Despite this, she opened her doors to those displaced by the fires, providing them with shelter and support.
Longoria also shared her efforts to help those in need, stating, “We’ve donated clothes, and I literally emptied out my pantry to take food to donation centers.”
She went on to announce her financial commitment to This Is About Humanity, an organization aiding families and essential workers affected by the fires. “They’re matching up to $50,000, and I’m personally matching that as well,” she declared.
The wildfires, which ignited on Tuesday, have already forced nearly 30,000 people to evacuate.
