Taylor Swift isn’t ready to say goodbye to live performances just yet, and her fans, known as Swifties, couldn’t be happier! After wrapping up her massive, record-breaking Eras Tour in December 2024, where she took her show across the globe, there’s buzz that the pop sensation might be planning a performance in China.
According to Reuters, officials in China have confirmed that they’ve been in early discussions with Taylor’s team about the possibility of a concert in Shanghai. Zhang Qi, who is the deputy director of Shanghai’s Culture and Tourism Bureau, shared that they’re feeling positive about the potential. However, he did mention that the concert’s fate will largely depend on how well the market and the appeal of Shanghai can support such a massive event.
Thanks to the success of her Eras Tour, Taylor Swift officially became a billionaire, and she celebrated by giving her lavish $17.75 million Rhode Island mansion an upgrade. The mansion is now even more luxurious with manicured gardens, an impressive patio, and a huge swimming pool.
In a fun behind-the-scenes tidbit, one of Taylor’s crew members shared with Page Six that the singer generously gave each of her crew members a massive $100,000 bonus before the start of the international tour. And even though the tour wrapped up over a month ago, they’re still feeling the “emotional hangover” of the experience, a testament to just how incredible the journey was for everyone involved.
