Paul Hollywood has opened up about his close relationship with Blake Lively, revealing that the actress frequently reaches out to him with updates about her life. The Great British Bake Off star shared how he feels honored to receive texts from Blake, who makes an effort to stay in touch despite her busy life with family and kids.
In an interview with The Times, Paul explained, “I’ve got a lot of time for Blake. She texts occasionally to catch up on what she’s been up to and what Ryan’s been up to. It’s lovely because, regardless of their jobs, they’re just a normal family—mom and dad to some great kids.” He went on to praise the couple, calling them “really nice people.” Paul also mentioned that he doesn’t typically mix with other celebrities or attend high-profile events, stating, “I don’t go to a lot of red-carpet stuff. I don’t go to the parties up in London. I don’t like London.”
While discussing his celebrity friends, Paul shared that he’s garnered a few high-profile admirers, including Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Lynda Carter, and Michael J. Fox.
On a more personal note, Hollywood also opened up about his health struggles, specifically with carpal tunnel syndrome. The chef revealed that after years of kneading dough, he developed severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both wrists, a condition that was diagnosed about four years ago. He said, “I went to speak to a consultant about it, and he said, ‘Listen, you’re going to have to have an operation.'” Although he was initially scared about the prospect of surgery, Paul has since reduced the amount of baking he does to manage the condition.
