Who Are The Five People Charged In Liam Payne’s Death Case?

Authorities in Argentina have charged five individuals in connection with the tragic death of Liam Payne, who fell from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. The charges span a range of offenses, from manslaughter to drug supply.

Three of the individuals face manslaughter charges: Gilda Martin, the manager of CasaSur hotel; Esteban Grassi, a hotel receptionist; and Roger Nores, a friend of Payne’s. They are accused of failing to ensure Payne’s safety after he returned to his third-floor room intoxicated, where the fatal fall occurred. Nores, as Payne’s friend, is also accused of neglecting his responsibility to look out for Payne, knowing about his addictions. If convicted, they could face prison sentences ranging from one to five years.

Additionally, two hotel staff members, Ezequiel Pereyra and Braian Paiz, are charged with drug supply. Pereyra is accused of selling cocaine to Payne on October 15 and 16, while Paiz allegedly sold the drug to Payne on October 14. They face potential sentences of four to fifteen years if found guilty.

An autopsy revealed that Payne had alcohol, cocaine, and a prescription antidepressant in his system at the time of his death. The report confirmed that he suffered multiple traumas, including internal and external hemorrhages, leading to his death. These new charges come after initial charges were filed in November 2024.
