In a shocking legal development, Justin Baldoni has filed a $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against his It Ends With Us co-star Blake Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The lawsuit has taken an unexpected turn, with reports indicating that Baldoni has allegedly implicated pop superstar Taylor Swift in the case.
The lawsuit alleges that Blake Lively used Swift’s name to exert influence over the production of the film, despite Swift not being explicitly named in the legal documents. Lively and Reynolds, who are known to be close friends with Swift, are said to have used this connection as a means of shaping the direction of the movie.
According to Baldoni’s claims, he was invited to Lively’s New York City penthouse, where Reynolds and another “famous, and famously close, friend” of the couple were present. During this meeting, they allegedly expressed their satisfaction with Lively’s script rewrites, which supposedly altered the film’s direction significantly.
Baldoni reportedly texted Lively about a critical scene in the movie, the “rooftop scene,” praising her changes. In response, Lively allegedly credited her “dragons,” a reference to Reynolds and Swift, for making the revisions so impactful. She is said to have explained that the changes made the movie “so much more fun and interesting,” adding that she would have felt that way even without their involvement.
In the lawsuit, Baldoni claims that Lively reassured him that they were on the same team with shared goals for the project, referring to Reynolds and Swift as “absolute titans” in the world of writing and storytelling. She reportedly expressed her gratitude for having them as “creative barometers.”
However, Baldoni alleges that he felt pressured by Lively and was uncomfortable with the influence exerted by Reynolds and Swift, whom he referred to as “megacelebrities.” He claims that they made it difficult for him to navigate the production process.
Taylor Swift has yet to comment on the allegations made in the lawsuit.
