Christopher Abbott shared some interesting behind-the-scenes insights into his role in the Wolf Man reboot, particularly a memorable moment involving prosthetic limbs. During an interview with Mama’s Geeky, Abbott revealed that he had to gnaw on a prosthetic leg as part of a scene, and he found it surprisingly delicious. According to him, the “blood” on the prosthetics had so much sugar in it, making it “gross but kind of delicious.” He even speculated that the prosthetic bone might have been made with something like white chocolate, admitting it wasn’t exactly what he wanted but wasn’t terrible either.
Abbott’s experience with his werewolf makeup also caught the attention of co-star Julia Garner. She recalled the first time seeing Abbott in full prosthetics and described it as both “frightening” and “ridiculous.” Although initially taken aback by the transformation, Garner eventually got used to the look after a few days. She also noted that the most unsettling part was when the transition was gradual, as Abbott’s eyes, a familiar feature, remained the same despite the significant changes to his skin and hair.
Both Abbott and Garner’s reflections give insight into the intriguing and bizarre nature of working with elaborate prosthetics in a film like Wolf Man.
